My most favourite gazal... I have also live programme vcd of the programme by mehedi hassan while Naushadji and Latadidi were present and this gazal has ther almost 1 hr duration.

ही रुना लैलाने गायलेली आहे ना? आज नव्याने ऐकता्ना पूर्वीइतकी भावपूर्ण वाटली नाही. अलिकडेच फरिदा खानूम आणि तिचा दर्दभरा आवाज ऐकला. तो कानात भरून राहिला आहे. त्या पार्श्वभूमीवर हे गायन फारच कोरडे वाटले. शिवाय व्हिडिओतील रंगसंगतीसुध्दा आवडली नाही. i'm sorry friend!

I had the privilige to hear the Shahenshah-e-ghazal...Mehdi hassan --live at Shanmukhananda..Mumbai..in late 70s...courtsey my cousin Ibrahim Durwesh who is a phonologist in Mumbai and is v active in the field of ghazals,urdu and phonology...Some of his disciples include renowned ghazal singers and bollywood singers and upcoming actors..
