King Ajaatshatru is a very powerful but greedy king. He has won several wars but has an insatiable thirst to rage more wars and win more provinces. Om Prakash plays the role of a rich old billionaire - Amba Prasad. He has all the money to buy anything he wants, but what he wants is true love and affection. Months pass without any news or letter from him. Its mela time again and Shanker comes back to the spot where he had first seen Gouri. He meets Radha and her husband, but where is Gouri? Gouri, is keeping a vigil for the man she loves, the man, whom she so ardently desires. Shanker comes home to fall into her embrace, to his wife who, at last, has awakened.

Two unemployed slackers, Bhola and Ajay (Deven Verma and Navin Nischal) come across a newspaper advertisement about a missing elderly gentleman, whose estate is worth millions. They come across this male in the Hanging Garden Park in Bombay, and decide to make him their paternal uncle and take him to live with them in a rented apartment, which they cannot afford. This elderly man, Girdharilal (Om Prakash) takes an unusual interest in Ajay's girlfriend, Deepa (Archana). While Bhola and Ajay try to find ways and means of getting rich by turning Girdharilal in, a number of horrific homicides are committed, all against former business associates of Girdharilal, and the clues all point toward the hapless duo.Om Prakash as a character actor always was a treat to watch. His roles were full of comic adventures, a smart person who is not afraid of making a fool of himself or a fool who thinks he is the smartest person. In here he plays a person who is seemingly docile but could be a murderer!!

In a village circa the British rule in India, lives a young school-going male named Amal - Sachin, who is shortly to get married to a girl named Rajni - Rajni Sharma. The traditional ritual-filled marriage takes place, the young couple are then left alone for a few days, and this is where the two develop their love and friendship. Then Rajni must return to her parents house, while Amal continues with his studies in school, and at home with Masterji, an elderly teacher. His life is enlivened occasionally when Rajni is permitted to visit. Rajnis' next visit is scheduled for Durga Pooja, but she does not come, instead she comes at Vijay Dashami, to stay there for a couple nights, before going on a holy patronage with her family, where they are scheduled to visit all the holy places in India namely, Benaras, Gaya, Mathura, Vrindavan, Hardwar, Nasik, Hrishikesh, Dwarka, Rameshwaram, Kamakshya, Puri, and Konarak. But before that could happen their little world is shattered when the gentle Masterji is arrested by the police for being a ""Freedom-fighter"", harboring and training fugitives, and making explosives. Watch whether this incident will have an impact on Amal and Rajni or otherwise.

Haricharan Mathur delivers newspapers on his bicycle and lives a poor lifestyle in Bombay| India| just like millions of other Bombayites. Firaaq follows the life of several ordinary people, some who were victims, some silent observers and some perpetrators one month after the 2002 violence in Gujarat. It focuses on how their lives are affected and (irrevocably) changed. Mohsin, a young Muslim boy who has been orphaned during the carnage and is searching for his father. Khan Sahab (Naseeruddin Shah), an elderly Muslim classical vocalist, who is initially unaware of the events and loses his optimism after becoming aware of the hate floating around. A middle-aged Hindu woman, Aarti (Deepti Naval), who is traumatised because she did not open the door to a Muslim woman being chased by a mob and her husband (Paresh Rawal) Muneera, a young Muslim woman whose house has been burnt and suspects her friend's (Amruta Subhash) husband to be behind it. A group of Muslim men, who want to hide their helplessness by searching for a gun in order to extract revenge. An affluent couple, Sameer (Sanjay Suri) and Anu (Tisca Chopra), whose store was burnt during the carnage and want to escape their fears by moving to Delhi. The stories briefly interconnect, giving the impression that all are involved in each others life and all have been affected.

A simple, yet interesting romantic movie, 'Chitchor' revolves around Vinod - Amol Palekar who falls in love with Geeta - Zarina Wahab after her family mistakes him for someone else. When the misunderstanding about Vinod's identity is cleared, it seems that he may have to lose Geeta for no fault of his. This Basu Chatterji film boasts of a sterling performance by Master Rajoo and an excellent music score by Ravindra Jain, which contains soulful songs like 'Gori Tera Gaon', 'Jab Deep Jale Aana', 'Tu Jo Mere Sur Mein' and 'Aaj Se Pehle'.

An old villager -- Vichare (Arun Nalawade) brings his 8 year old grandson Parshuraam (Ashwin Chitale) also known as Paarsha to a doctor in Mumbai to diagnose the child's eyes. On the first day Vichare is asked to sign usual papers before admission in hospital. Upon asking, he learns that the papers say the doctor would not be responsible if anything goes wrong. Vichare, the rustic grandfather finds these terms unacceptable. A medical social worker named Asawari (Amruta Subhash) who is present there, quickly comes in and explains the practice to Vichare. She calms down Vichare and accompanies them during the first appointment with the doctor. Dr. Sane (Sandeep Kulkarni) quickly diagnoses child as a victim of the rare retinoblastoma - a rare retinal cancer. After consulting with other colleagues in US and UK doctor finds that only way to save child's life is to perform an operation that will leave the child blind. He cannot be operated without this knowledge as it was against ethics. Asawari who helps the doctor in convincing the grandfather and the grandson, tries to keep track of Vichare and persuades him not fall prey to other doctors promising false medicines. She tries to befriend Parshya in order to explain him what is going to happen. However, she finds it is too difficult to explain to him that he will turn blind.

The film then depicts the grandfather's struggle to accept the reality that the only way to save his grandson is at the cost of his eyesight. The film has been applauded for scenes which depict the difficulty faced by the doctors to explain to grandfather and Parshya that nothing can be done and the truth is but inevitable. It shows the medical fraternity in a very positive light, with the doctors and nurses being extremely supportive and doing the best they can, and helping the village with the best facilities. The last shot where Parshya returns home wearing dark glasses, waving to his family and friends from the boat was widely appreciated by film critics.

Widowed Advocate Triloki Prasad lives a wealthy lifestyle in a small town in India with two sons| Advocate Ashok - who is married to Geeta| and Alok - who has yet to settle down in their law firm. Alok is fond of music and does enroll in classes run by Pandit Jamuna Prasad. On his return| his father asks him to accompany Ashok to their law firm and start learning to practice| which he agrees to do. Then one day Triloki finds out that Alok has not been at the firm but is instead spending time in the local slums with a former courtesan named Sarju Bai Banaraswali. He cautions Alok about this| but Alok continues to visit Sarju Bai. When Mr. Gupta approaches Triloki about taking possession & demolishing the slum area| Triloki readily agrees and with his expertise manages to sway the Court's decision in Gupta's favor. As a result| Sarju Bai and others are rendered homeless. With the fee he receives from Gupta.

Ishaan Nandkishore Awasthi (Darsheel Safary), the story's leading character, is an eight-year-old boy who dislikes school and fails every test or exam. He finds all subjects difficult, and is belittled by his teachers and classmates. But Ishaan's internal world is rich with wonders that he is unable to convey to others, magical lands filled with colour and animated animals. He is an artist whose talent is unrecognised.

Ishaan's father, Nandkishore Awasthi (Vipin Sharma), is a successful executive who expects his children to excel. His mother, housewife Maya Awasthi (Tisca Chopra), is frustrated by her inability to educate her son. Ishaan's elder brother, Yohaan (Sachet Engineer), is an exemplary scholar and athlete, which Ishaan is frequently reminded of.

After receiving a particularly poor academic report, together with Ishaan's apparent truancy on one occasion,Ishaan's parents send him to a boadevelopmentalrding school. There he sinks into a state of fear and depression, despite being befriended by Rajan (Tanay Chheda), a physically disabled, and one of the top students in his class. Ishaan's situation changes when a new art teacher, Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan), joins the school's faculty. An instructor at the Tulips School for young children with disabilities, Nikumbh's teaching style is markedly different from that of his strict predecessor, and he quickly observes that Ishaan is unhappy and contributes little to class activities. He reviews Ishaan's work and concludes that his academic shortcomings are indicative of dyslexia. On his day off, Nikumbh visits Ishaan's parents and asks if he can see more of their son's work. He is stunned by the sophistication of one of Ishaan's paintings, and tells his parents that Ishaan is a bright child who processes information differently from other children in his class, but Ishaan's father is suspicious that the explanation is simply an excuse for his son's poor performance. Nikumbh demands that he read some Japanese text on a box and berates him when he cannot, giving him a glimpse into Ishaan's experience of school. Nikumbh describes dyslexia to them and explains that it is not a sign of low intelligence. He tells them he can provide extra tutoring that will help Ishaan, highlighting the boy's artistic ability evident in his many paintings and other creative works.

Nikumbh subsequently brings up the topic of dyslexia in class, and offers a list of famous people who are considered dyslexic. As the students are leaving the classroom, Nikumbh asks Ishaan to remain behind and reveals to him that he too experienced the same difficulties with dyslexia. Nikumbh then visits the school's principal and obtains his permission to become Ishaan's tutor. He attempts to improve Ishaan's reading and writing by using remedial techniques developed by dyslexia specialists; Ishaan soon develops an interest in language and mathematics, and his grades improve.

Towards the end of the school year Nikumbh organises an art fair for the staff and students. The competition is judged by artist Lalita Lajmi, who portrays herself in the film. Ishaan, with his strikingly creative style, is declared the winner and Nikumbh, who paints Ishaan's portrait, the runner-up. The principal announces that Nikumbh has been hired as the school's permanent art teacher. When Ishaan's parents meet his teachers on the last day of school they are left speechless by the transformation they see in him. Overcome with emotion, Ishaan's father thanks Nikumbh. As Ishaan is getting into the car to leave with his parents, he turns around and runs toward Nikumbh. The film ends with a freeze frame shot of Nikumbh tossing Ishaan into the air.

Pak Pak Pakaak is a Marathi movie about a small naughty boy and a supposedly ghost living in a forest. The story is conceptualized by Sai Paranjpe and is very similar to her 2001 movie 'Bhaago Bhoot'. The story is of a parent-less little boy, chiklu who plays pranks on everybody in the village. Her old grandmother is also fed up with his activities that she resorts to punish him now and then. The village is surrounded by a big forest which inhabits a ghost named as ?bhootya?. The villagers are afraid to venture into the forest alone in the fear that they will be harmed by bhootya. Bhootya is actually a herbal doctor living in isolation from the society. He has been wronged and his wife killed which makes him loose hope and trust in humanity.Chiklu while playing another prank on his teacher ventures into the jungle to find he facing Bhootya. After some confrontation, Chiklu and Bhootya accept each other. Bhootya teaches Chiklu to be good and Chiklu convinces him to come back to the society which he had shunned long back. Just as Chiklu changes, he understands the changing attitude of others toward him. He understands that earlier people who had cursed him were appreciative of his behavior.The journey of Chiklu from being a naughty brat to a nice well-mannered boy is what constitutes the rest of the movie.In spite of having a small boy as a central character, it cannot be termed as a childrens film. I would call it rather a fun film to be enjoyed by everybody.
